From St. Konrad’s, your starting point in Abersee, the path leads from behind the cemetery wall to the suspension bridge and over the Zinkenbach. Once you have crossed the stream the wooded path goes up stream to a group of houses. Turn left here and follow the "Waldstrasse" until you reach the main road. After passing under the road turn into the “Schulstrasse” just before the Zinkenbachbrücke (bridge). From here the “Brunneckweg” (route No. 16) branches off to the left and initially ascends steeply before levelling off and leading to the wooded crest of the Brunneck.

From the peak of the walk (700 m/ 2,758 ft) the path descends to a wonderful farmstead known as “Vitz am Berg”. ( a well maintained private toll-road begins here which goes to the “Niedergadenalm”, a pasture area between the Bleckwand and Torhöhe mountains, which is also worth a visit.

From the Viz am Berg farmstead the path leads diagonally to the right over the beautiful meadows and a stretch of wood down hill to the Zinkenbach forestry road. Now it’s a gentle walk down the road directly to the stream and through the romantic Zinkenbackklamm (gorge). At the end of the gorge there is a broad weir and just after the first houses you come to a crossing. (A 100 metres from here turn to the right and you will find the Zinkenbachmühle Inn).

From the crossing turn and left walk along the quiet asphalt road to the hamlet of Brunn.

Just before Brunn you can make a little detour and visit the Adambauer farmstead and the "Dorf der Tiere" (animal farm). Children in particular, will be delighted by this little "pet zoo" because, for small entrance fee, they can touch and stroke the animals. As well rabbits, donkeys, goats, sheep and chickens there are also Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, and ,many other animals. Having passed the second farmstead in Brunn walk along the gravel path which crosses under the main road and leads straight to the hamlet of Farchen where it joins the path "Rund um den Wolfgangsee" ( Around the Wolfgangsee). Continue on this path until you come to the "Staudachwald" forest which is noted for its assorted very tall trees.

Come out of the forest and on the right you will find the Aberseehof inn which allows you to take a well earned rest.

The route now leads directly to Abersee-Reith and if you head in the direction of the lake you will come to the Seehotel Huber Inn and a little further along the Panzl-Stub´n café restaurant

From the Panzl Stub´n return through the woods to your starting point at the St. Konrad’s church.
