Walking Routes

There are many paths and trails around the Wolfgangsee which range from a leisurely stroll along the lake to an invigorating walk. You can make up your own mind – maybe you could even climb up to the peak of a mountain where the whole region (a most superb walking area) seems to stretch out below at your feet.

Ruperti – Pilgrim`s way

More and more people experience the meaning of making a pilgrimage. The desire to escape from everyday life and problems – to move on, internal and external. Unexpected encounter with with oneself – Nature – Culture. Hermann Hinterhölzl had the idea to develop the „St. Rupert pilgrim´s way“

The Pilgrim's way

An historic pilgrim's way leads from Furberg, trough the hamlet of Ried to St. Wolfgang, a cultural path unique to Europe. 24 marked places of interest documents its special importance.

Around the Wolfgangsee

The most famous race around a lake is the one around the Wolfgangsee. Every October thousands of runners from all over the world meet here to compete in this challenging race covering a distance of 27 km, altitude differences of 200 metres and some difficult terrain. For hikers this circular walk is also intriguing and challenging and worth your while. Of course it is up to the individual to decide whether to do the whole stretch in one go or break off at various points en route and continue by boat. The walk/ run can also be done in either direction. Here the route is described in the counter-clockwise direction.

From the Bürglstein to the Schwarzensee Lake

An especially varied circular walk, which begins at the eastern end of the Wolfgangsee and leads up the ravine of the brook called Schwarzenbach to the romantic Schwarzensee. From here you can return to your starting point via the gentle "Sattelweg".

From Strobl to Zinkenbach

An easy circular tour on fairly flat terrain, initially along the south shore of the Wolfgangsee to the Zinkenbach (stream) and then on a wooded path past the Mahdhäusl Inn back to Strobl.

Around the Sparber

A scenically splendid circular tour all around the Sparber, a 1, 502 m/ 5 918 ft high, double peaked rocky mountain to the south of the Wolfgangsee.

Climbinggarden Postalm

The wildest Clammy in our area ist the Rußbach, which comes from the Postalmgebiet and entrenched themselves deeply into the area. So far the ravine only was for experienced Canyoninger-fans, now is it also for the multiplicity of the climber possible.
