Yoga is a philosophical discipline from India, which combines a series of physical and spiritual exercises. Yoga exercises follow a holistic approach that should bring boday, mind and soul in harmony. Our yoga instructors offer you the possibility to try out this relaxing method every Tuesday on the lake Wolfgangsee...
Originally, yoga is a spiritual path only, and the main aim is to gain enlightenment through meditation.

The many asanas developed over time. Their main aim is to strengthen and mobilize the body so that it can stay in the meditation position as painless as possible for a long time, e.g. the lotus position.
Over time the positive effect of the physical exercises on the whole wellbeing of humankind was realized.
The asanas were developed further and the physical activity in Yoga is receiving an even higher position in our time.

This development finds its first traces in the emergence of Hatha Yoga.
„Hatha Yoga Pradipika“, a text of the 15th century, shows the techniques that include the body as an effective medium in order to achieve the existential and spiritual aims of Yoga.
The mentioned Raja Yoga is a doctrine based on Hatha Yoga, which emphasizes spiritual aims.

WHEN: every Tuesday from 6.30pm until approx. 8pm at the lake
WHERE: in good weather at the pontoon of Villa Brandauer, entrance opposite stationary stor Leitner, otherwise at the reading hall at the Kirchenplatz in Strobl – just next to it – from 7pm until 8.30pm.
