The Facts

The car park on the S. E. side of the lake is the starting point, reached either by road from St. Wolfgang via »Russbach« (9 km) or on foot via the »Sattelweg« – see map, marked route no. 28 – 5 km over 230 mt difference in elevation.

Starting point:
Start at the car park. Take the tarmac road around to the right of the lake until you reach the end of the tarmac. Then either: a) left on a wide walkway around the lake and back to the car park (4.4 km with 25 mt difference in elevation), or b) straight on, and after 1 km via a short, steep section, straight on over the lovely »Moosalm« Alpine pasture to the place where the path meets a signpost. At this point, turn back again to Lake »Schwarzen­see«, following the route right around the lake and back to the starting point.
